Name These Funk Chords . . . .

In Kris' Quickstart Guide for his Funk Riff 2 he plays and shows the following tabs(played on the 4 top strings), but doesn't tell us what chords they are:

e ---------- 5
b ---------- 5
g ---------- 5
d -----------5
a ------------
e ------------

And then he does the same thing on the 7th fret as above

What chords are these and where is the root note. I haven't seen these chords in any of the other funk lesons I've used(They usually only play the top 3 strings)

This is an Aminor7 chord with G as a base note. Simplest way to look at it is just as an Am chord.

If you move it to the eventh fret it becomes a Bm7 chord! smile.gif
