Hi mate, thanks for the info. I would like to see you playing a guitar solo. Is it possible to record an improvisation over any backing track?
It's also ok ff you prefer to learn and record a solo lesson from archive, like for example this one: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...nner-solo-in-d/

What do you think?

Hi Gab,

Good idea!

I prefer doing the solo from the archive.
I'm not really good at improvisations , as I dont know many scales.

Let's give the solo a try! I'll post a vid when mastering it :-)

Hi Gab

Below my take on the beginner solo in D.
I really enjoyed the solo, and mastered it pretty fast.

I'm excited for my trip towards soloing on an advanced level, with maybe shred as my endpoint/destination? biggrin.gif

Hi mate, good job with this one!

The overall sounds good! There are a few elements to improve here that will be playing during this mentoring program like bending (pitch), vibrato, and cleanness.

ASSIGNMENT 1

Goals:

- Alternate Picking Work
- Working on expression elements.

Task #1:

The idea is start polishing your alternate picking in order to make your technique more consistent and be able to play at fast tempos. Work on this alternate picking lesson focusing on timing, cleanness and hands sync.

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Altern...king-workout-3/

Task #2:

The second lesson for this first assignment is focused on phrasing, dynamics and other expressing elements like bending, vibrato.

This is the link to the lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Ballad...s-And-Phrasing/

Exam and deadline:

By July 15th you'll have to share 2 videos.

- A video playing the alternate picking lesson. (5 coins)
- A second video playing the ballad soloing lesson. (5 coins)

Each of this videos will be evaluated (check the coins value below). You need to get at least 7 coins to pass. If you pass, we can continue, if you don't you will have a second "call".

Hi Gab,

I'm in, man!

Looks challenging, but seems doable and is good for making my technique more consistent.

I like the way you demand me to upload my video's by 15July.
That motivates me, cause I need some deadline to push things, if you know what I mean ;-)

Have a good vacation, and I'll post my vids by 15July.

Greets,
Clipstar

Hi Gab,

Here I am, 14th of July.

Dammit, Im not ready yet to post the videos.

The alternate picking workout is harder than I expected.
My pinky is working like hell and currently I'm able to play on 120bpm.
Busy working my way up to 160bpm.

Honestly this doesnt feel like a level 4 lesson as I've allready played a lot of level 5 lessons, but anyways, I really like it, as i feel, I'm advancing on my technique.

You want me to upload a 120bpm take to prove I'm practicing, or can I have some extra credit? ^^

Greetings,
Clipstar
