No.
Your hand should be lightly resting on the bridge. Not over any pickup, on the bridge. |

Yeah i understand your problem. I used to have an RG370DX ibanez. It has that Floyd Rose bridge so it makes it hard to palm mute (it interferes and pokes your hand). Sorry, thats just the way the guitar is, the floyd rose isint designed for palm mute since its mainly meant for whammy bar and lead.
Use the best of your guitar. Practice Pavels whammy bar tricks lesson and do some shreds. Thats something most guitars can do. Theres this guy who did palm mutes on the same guitar: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ruwXYRjxt0g Hope that helps -------------------- _____________________________________________________

Maybe Uncreator has something to add to this. He raves about this guitar so I hope he can have something for you!

My RG350DX arrived tonight and I see what you're talking about. I just move my hand a little further toward the neck so that my pick goes between the neck and middle PU and it seems to be good for now. Well guys, as you know I have a Jem wich is extremely similar to the RG350 - a couple of points; 1. When I palm mute my pick naturally falls between the neck and sincle coil pickups - I guess its down to the size of your hands, but I res the heel of my palm on the bridge, that is all 2. Even when I deliberately move my pick over the single coil pickup I still don't have a problem ... when you are picking you should aim to only lightly touch the strings and not dig in too much so I suspect you need to be a little more delicate and relaxed, which will help no end with speed. Hope that helps ... -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile
