In case you want to keep the guitar I would for sure go for a new bridge, what you described sounds nasty. I can't say much about the guitar itself or the pickups, since I don't know that model, but good pickups can for sure improve the sounds of cheap guitars.

If you really wanna upgrade, the bridge pickup would be a logical first step. Be aware about the pickup for the guitar, you should buy a pickup that you can later transfer to a better guitar when you buy one. Keep the old pickup if you ever sell it, you never know. It is relatively easy to change the pickups, so it's not too much hassle to return the stock pup, later on.

Tell us what model is your guitar. Pacifica are good guitar, maybe a good set of new pick up will improve the already nice tone.

I think a new bridge could really save that guitar.
I'm not sure i would go through all the trouble of upgrading pickups etc though. It can quickly turn quite expensive. But offcourse, if you really like how the guitar handles, then upgrading might be worth it. -------------------- Guitars: Schecter Stiletto Classic, Jackson SLSMG, Ibanez RG-380 Japan, Gibson Les Paul Studio

Probably not what you want to hear, but if I were you I'd save the money and invest it later on a new guitar.
But if you can't wait a new bridge looks like the 2nd best option! -------------------- Guitars:

I think you are probably right...I have been thinking about getting an Ibanez RG370DX. That seems to be exactly what I am looking for! A great guitar on a budget! Go for it |

Well after seeing that guitar, I definitely recommend saving for the Ibanez and not continuing with the upgrade. If you change the bridge pup, and the bridge it can cost you a lot, more than the guitars actual cost, so try to buy a quality crafted one.

If you really feel that the guitar is "the one" you should consider upgrade..Otherwise save cash for a new one
But if you really need something to buy maybe consider some cool stomp box effects etc This post has been edited by Bogdan Radovic: May 11 2008, 10:27 PM -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

I think you are probably right...I have been thinking about getting an Ibanez RG370DX. That seems to be exactly what I am looking for! Then go for it, it's better to wait a bit longer with what you have and you will end up with a much better guitar this way. There's no point spending too much money on a starter guitar anyway, you can't make it good no matter what you do. And maybe do some more searching or try different guitars at local shops in the meantime. Half the fun of getting new gear is actually trying stuff and doing some research -------------------- Guitars:
