Well metal heads, it is time to share some metal chordsss YEAH!!

Some years ago i asked myself why most of the guitar players (including famous ones) play only the power chods (1-5 grades)?

So I search for new ways to play a chord with heavy distortion which sounds good

These are the ones I know so far (all them without the 3 erd)

All of them in Do major ( C )

or (this is lovely, try playing it on A-G or F )

I like these two chords the best in drop tunings.

So why do I get two chord names? I used a http://jguitar.com/chordname.

I use this one after a big open rhythm chunk, and sometimes play it backwards as an arpeggio.

Great question Power Chords are great but limited. Once you go beyond them you start to define your own sound. As has been mentioned, DIMINISHED chords can work well, as can MINOR chords. You may have to add varied picking in to them instead of strumming or crunching, but that too opens up new sounds.

The add9 in dropped tuning opens A LOT of possibilities here's the Dadd9 for instance in drop C

I like the creating dissonant powerchords made from fractions of diminished chords, insert them occasionally between regular ones.
