Toto is what music is all about. Awesome musicians creating awesome music.

When i listen to groups like Toto it makes me wish for less commercialism in music. Frankly the music scene in the States makes me want to puke.

Half of them are manufactured mediocre talent hacks with big budgets to throw money around. And most of them have a shelf life of maybe 2 years if your lucky.

Sad state of affairs to be sure. Thats why i tend to not listen to the radio and search for music from Europe because it has really talented and dedicated musicians that have legitimate followings that have been developed over years of blood sweat and tears.

yeah Daniel you are wright....sadly music is very big business, and people that are with power tend to force the style and the people(marionetes) on the top charts.....

Well said Daniel,very well.

Unfortunately,I believe similar thing is happening in Europe too.
Bands overnight,instant starts etc.

Luckily,Toto is still touring and rocking around the globe. biggrin.gif

OMG yess... one of my all times favorite band besides Van Halen... (and my best live experience so far - along with Phil Collins Farewell Tour... that was something off this planet too!)
Seen them live 3 times only on their last tour Falling In Between... The way those guys sound and play its just not possible... I was so blown away the first time I just had to go two more times...
And Steve Lukather... he is one of the greatest guitar players to me and a huge inspiration! ... seen him live with El Groupo (and got signed limited edition Live cd by him - from same tour but recorded at LA concert) - there is nothing he couldn't play! It was a nice and much more relaxed tour, he played mostly cover songs; some Jeff Beck and Hendrix tunes... his version of Little Wing is killer!!

THEY ARE TAKING A LONG BREAK AFTER THIS so it could even been their last tour so if u still have the chance go see them you'll never regret it if you like them!!!!!!

Awh. One of the best bands ever has come to an end sad.gif
Understandable though, if there was only one original member left.

I've been a fan of Toto since their first hit, Hold the Line. Steve Lukather has probably played on more hit albums than any other studio player. He's got taste and tone. He can also burn it up. Everybody in the band is a top-notch musician, that's the way I like it. I wish there were more bands like Toto. They may be out there somewhere, but they aren't signed. Hopefully, the record companies will 'allow' us to enjoy more good music sometime in the future...
