Check out Daniel's new lesson: "Slow Tempo Control", and post a reply to today's topic.

Ok, now that we've slowed things down a bit, are you having trouble playing all the notes in the right place? Do you have trouble keeping with the tempo?

This is a great topic and I'm pleased somebody has brought it to attention. The less busy the time count is (whether it's drums or metronome) the harder it is to stay in time.

Daniel's lesson is a good one for all guitarists to think about. The No 1. problem I see in all guitarists I've ever met/taught/played with is a tendency to play in front of the beat. I think it comes from a desire to get something right too much and being tense.. learning to hang back and feel the beat usually (not always !) comes with a bit of experience smile.gif

When the tempo is slow, I have problems keeping myself wake laugh.gif jk, it's important to work on low tempos, that's the key for achieving precision that so many beginner guitar players underestimate.
