Hey,

I have a nice little tube amp that a friend built for me. It has a good sound at low level, but mainly clean/clean to crunch kind of sound. Now, I need to buy some effect to have good rhythm/lead sound. I like to play all kind of music, but mainly classic rock, or classic metal.

What pedal or effect could I buy to get that kind of sound? let say that money is not an issue (to some extent of course).

Consensus so far is for a boutique pedal Philippe and all those mentioned are v good - the ones I'd add to the short list are Keeleys - maybe the Blues Driver mod or if you want more distortion the Ibanez TS9 mod.

I have both the Keeley Blues Driver and the Keeley Tubescreamer which are also incredible pedals. The Blues driver may be the most transparent I've ever heard. Read my review on it (link below).

I've thought of a fulltone. An other choice would be a tonebone hot british. Which one would be the most
versatile? can I get a classic metal rhythm tone from one of this pedal?

From what I know the Tonebone will simulate an EL34 tube driven amp giving very distinct classic rock tunes which are british inspired. However, I do not have personal experience with one.

The fulldrive however has a very wide range of tone and is quite the rock pleaser. I have played this and know several players that love theirs.
