Gabi, on the explanation you wrote that the tuning is standard , but I guess it's Drop D. Nice lesson to come back. Haven't found the way to use those LePoin plugins in Reaper so I used one from Pod farm.

Ok, you've got good timing and the tone is appropriate for this sort of sound.

There's only 2 areas where it could be better, in my opinion.

-Right hand... it's very rigid. For a slow riff like this you should be able to let your wrist move more independently from your forearm. Obviously your forearm will move too to some extant but your hand is barely moving at all, creating more tension because you're using your whole arm to move your pick position.

-The higher pitched motif in the main riff is not always clear... the first note of it sometimes gets lost in the string buzz. It could be that you're not picking it cleanly enough so it's being buried.

I agree with Ben's comments about your playing and I can say that the first thing he marked is the main reason why I was going to mark that one of the things you should improve on this one is timing/groove. Your riffing is rigid, lacks groove and sometimes has little timing issues, and the reason why is the fact that you are not adding wrist movement on this one. Relax your hand and let it dance freely with the backing.

Hey there coffe! From my observations it's mostly the right hand issue - your timming is close to perfect but your hand looks very tensed. Your wrist is almost frozen and main strumming source is your forearm. Look at Gabriel's original lesson. Even if he's playing one directional strumming, he still uses his wrist - take a close look and see those little movements. Your tone is in fact proper for the style even if slightly different than Gabriels proposition
