is Laney Mdx 120h a good amp??( i can´t seem to find anything about it :S )
here are some pictures of the amp´s head.. http://arrifana-aveiro.olx.pt/cabeco-laney-iid-58800193 what about Marshall MG 100 HDFX - 100W ?? or Crate Blue Voodoo BV120H ?? (this 2 sound nice to me but i want a 2nd opinion) can you point me some simller amps heads you my think are better ??? ( to get a nice distortion sound like guns , metallica, some nice crunch and metal sounds ) Edit : what about a Crate GFX2200HT ?? sorry this post turned a bit biggen it was suposed to be just about the laney amp head XD but i got carried away This post has been edited by ruben_mcn: Jan 11 2010, 06:08 PM |

Yeah the look of a Halfstack is just stunning but for 500 Euros you can't really get a good halfstack...
Most of the good sounding 4x12 cabinets start at 500 Euros, and the respective heads cost two or three times that much - even used you can't get very good equipment. I suggest you get a good Combo amplifier, they are cheaper and more transportable and with 500 Euros you can even get a tube amp while all the heads you suggested are solid state amps and imho they don't sound as good The peavey Valveking 112 or 212 amps are ubeatable in thir price region: Rock/Metal, good quality, good sound and very very loud! http://www.thomann.de/de/peavey_valve_king_212.htm http://www.thomann.de/de/peavey_valve_king...tarrencombo.htm Save the idea of a halfstack for when you have more money and you are already playing in a band with a rehearsal room, halfstacks are way too loud for home use anyways and a pain in the lower back to move arround...How I know that? I had my 100watt halfstack in my room for a couple of weeks!

Will sure do. For gigs you'll use a PA to where you can line the Spider, or mike the cab incase you think it's not loud enough. Which it might be so you'll have several options to be heard
