In this collab we're going to play with the minor harmonic scale. Tempo is 100 bpm.
A harmonic minor scale is basically a minor scale with a major 7th. I attached the scale to this post.

I need 6 volonteers to record their lead over the backing track.
The goal here is to be melodic. This is not a shred exercice, as the purpose of this particular collab is to create interesting melodic ideas with a scale that you might not be very familiar with...
Only 6 spots on this one.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Yep, you get to play over the whole thing.. I figured that I would give you more time to develop something...
Remember though, the idea is to create a cool melodic lead.

Sounds cool, but I've done too many of these so I'll give someone else a chance - put me in as first backup if needed smile.gif

You can use any pattern you'd like as long as you use the notes of the scale I wrote. smile.gif
That means that a minor pentatonic won't work because it has a minor 7th aned the harmonic minor scale has a major 7th...

Here's my effort - I was going for something a little melancholy with a sense of finality in the resolution.

All thoughts and feedback are most welcomed.

David, I won't be able to do this one this time. If someone else wants my spot they can have it. Sorry about that! I'm sure that you will have no problems finding another taker though. I've done a couple already anyway so someone else should do it.

I do have my lead tabbed out in GP5 though, in case you were looking for an idea of what I was going to attempt to play. Thanks!
