Let's Finally Try This ^^, Hi everyone!

Hi everyone ^^

I'm a 26 year old guy from the Québec province (Canada). I've been playing guitar for about 4-5 years. I never had any "real" lessons. Pretty much learnt by myself up until now. I'm not really good, mainly because when I play, I play stuff I already know how to play instead of trying new things. I found this website more than one year ago, but for some reason it got lost somewhere in my memory. I stumbled on it again last month and decided I had to try it ^^

I have both an acoustic guitar, and an electric one. I like many types of music, but for these last months, metal (power/symphonic) has played more than anything else on my playlist (Rhapsody of Fire, Blind Guardian, Nightwish...). Therefore, I'll start with metal training lessons (maybe some of the easier shredding ones too; I have to try that Harvest of sorrow one too... so many things to do).

I'm nearly done with university (will finish in April). I spend most of my free time playing video games, watching anime/reading manga (yes I'm an otaku xD ), listening to music, playing guitar...

Technical stuff:
Acoustic Guitar: Art & Lutherie accoustic
Electric Guitar: Fender Stratocaster (USA)
Amp: Line 6 Spider III 75W (not using it much these days)
Other: Line 6 tone port DI, with Gearbox Gold & Pod Farm Platinum
(I'm using Pod Farm much more than my amp; I love it ^^ )

I don't know if I'll often be on forums (all these forums are taking so much time lol), but I'll try, at the very least.

See ya soon ^^

Edit: small correction made ^^

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato
