GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Importance Of Silence

Posted by: Kristofer Dahl Jan 1 2011, 10:39 AM

There are many useful techniques when one creates a solo. First check out Jonathan's new lesson, "http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Jonathans-Melodic-Soloing/", and then post a reply to today's topic. How important is it to have silence in your solo?

I thinks this is essential actually. Solo should be like a language and no one talks without pause. It leaves room for breathing which makes it pleasing to listen to. Actually it would be interesting to hear a solo without a single pause/break in it smile.gif)

It's essential IMO. Pauses and longer notes are just as important as faster passages. Balance must exist, or the solo will not be very good.
