Is there somehow possible to slow down the videos?? I would like to try to play with the instructor, but find it extremely frustrating that it is not possible to slow down the video and making it impossible to do with 90%+ of the "interesting" videos I would like to learn. It's damn boring to play with guitar pro files since they have no background track. It's a shame you can not combine mp3 (backing track) with GP tabs, if somebody would figure that out then they would make big bucks.

edit by Kris: Solution here.

You can use this to convert the video to an mp3 and then put it into your daw once you've got the tube in your fingers.

I've used it for ages, I think there is a small one off fee.

You can do it by using an extension in chrome.
It's called Video Speed Controller

Very cool tip. Here is how I got it to work:

1 - Install the chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/v...hopabppdk?hl=en

2- First change the speed, then click x to show the video:

Awesome suggestions here that I did not know about. Another way that you could do it would be to ask the instructor or an admin to make the video available to download. Then you can open it in Windows media player, go to enhancements and adjust play speed. Free YouTube downloader can also convert files to mp3. Victor's idea sounds much more simple though.

The reason I like the video converter is that you can record yourself against the instructor take and hear your timing inaccurasies and the little embellishments. I usually pan the teacher hard left and myself hard right when playing back. It's very useful and obviously you can alter the bpm to practise at different speeds wink.gif

UPDATE:

I've just tried the speed controller and it is very useful when you can't figure out the fingering for something. I can't remember them now but there are some videos where the instructor doesn't finish on the same finger at the end of a bar when playing the smaller segments than when playing the whole thing which can be a ball ache when you've learnt it one way and it's fine until you get up to the higher BPMs and have to retrain your fingers wink.gif

Thanks
