I was watching this vid comparing the EMG 707 and Nazgul sentient pairs of 7 string pickups and while there are differences, I was not really blown away by them. I expected the duncan pickups to just crush the EMGS. Then again, the 707s are pretty decent pickups imho. I prefer them to the standard 81 set on six strings. They just seem to sound better. At high gain levels, the differences are pretty subtle indeed. Ola Englund gets this complaint all the time. Folks say all of his stuff sounds the same. Part of that is that he is using an SM58 and Vintage 30s in a cab. As a result, it always sounds like an sm58 and vintage 30s being played by ola. Give it a listen, what do you guys think?
