Using a chromatic tuner? You can put it preciesely in between E and F for example.. Another option is to change reference pitch, but I dont know how much.. I am not classicaly musically trained and instructors could help you more exactly:)

The God of Heavy Metal Said in his wisdom:

''Thou shalt nto tune up your guitar, only drop it down to a deeper tuning!''

But seriously I don't know how to do it

Why do you want that? you can't play with any ordinary songs then.

There are some recordings (mostly on tape I believe) that are sped up or slowed down. The tuning changes and for a lot of these songs changes by 1/4 step. If this is what you are trying to do, how about tuning from the song itself?

Use a tuner and set the A on the tuner to about 450/455 Hz instead of 440 Hz and it will be 1/4 step up as far as I know smile.gif

That's the way I would do it too, a very common example is Metallica solo Fade To Black - it is also tuned to 450Hz A note and that can be considered a 1/4 step upwards...

I suggest you play them in standard tuning because the main reason why they played 1/4 step down in those days is for the is for for the sake of speeding of the studio tape recorders.

If you do wanna do it, just take a chromatic tuner and tune one 1/4 step down all the strings.
