If you want something, then get out there and take it. Also don't be quite so quick to forgive, at least get a good round of teasing in then tell her she can make it up to you by taking YOU out to dinner then you'll consider the forgiveness. If you let them think that flakiness is acceptable, then you'll be met with more flakiness. If you come across as the "nice" guy then you're cruising for the friend zone. I can't tell you how many times I screwed up by getting stuck there. By no means am I a pro or anything but those are some lessons I've learned the hard way at the very least.
