Muse -odd Scale?!, Knights of cydonia.

In muse's Knight's of Cydonia, he get's freaky with his tremolo and plays an odd scale. I was wondering if anyone knows what scale it actually is? THank's! I will try to get some more information for the theory guru that I know; but, I recall him remarking about the weird patterns and the constant shifts from one key and mode/scale to another. Just the second interval\|? Mmmm I'll try to explain shortly about this topic. The dominant chord is a chord that gives the tension to resolve to the root of the key. One of the reasons of this to happend is that the 3rd of the dominant chord is the ascending sensitive of the scale (in C major it would be . That seventh degree tends to resolve into the first degree. Now, if you want that sensation in other degree you have to make that degree a dominant. Imagine you have a progression II-V-I in C major would be Dm-G7-C. So, if you want to have the same sensation from the II to the V that you have from the V to the I you'll have to make that II degree a secondary dominant. That would be D7, so you raise the third making it F# instead F and you have that asending sensitive that leads you to the G. Now the progression would be D7-G7-C. With that now I explain again the Muse's melody. The line sometimes passes through those thirds of the majorized (the chords who became dominants) and that's why it could sound a little odd.
