Hello guys.

Lately I've been practicing A LOT(100's a day) barre chords(the mighty F), and I've been feeling a little bit of pain in my left elbow. I thought "No Pain No Gain" so I kept going. A few days ago I woke up with my left elbow SLIGHTLY hurting, and I started have muscle weakness in my left triceps/biceps.

Now, it's NOT real pain, it's more like muscle weakness in my left triceps/biceps as I've already said, but this has almost been a week and regular anti-inflammatory gels aren't working. My hand gets tired really quickly even without a guitar. Any ideas what could this be? Should I see a doc?

Thanks in advance.

Well, but what doc to see? I doubt my general practitioner is too good in treating this...

In case that doctor can't help you he should at least be able to tell you where to go to get help. Take it very serious, if you don't then things might even get worse.

You must warm up before every playing session you do man, or you risk a serious injuries now and in the long run. So always warm up. Go to doctor to check out with him, and maybe try to look second opinion too.

I've been curious about this too. Yesterday I practiced quite a bit, meaning possibly 4-5 hours which I never really have done before but began to do so because I wanted to set up a good practice routine. But then my wrist started hurting here and there a bit. It was more like a slightly painful tingly sensation rather than a sharp pain but could this be the same thing?

No, my wrist doesn't hurt at all. It's something very different.

BUT, it's still not good and very dangerous sad.gif

Well I know you didn't mention your wrist but I was curious if it could be the same thing. I do have a tiny bit of discomfort in my elbow too.

Any advice on this? See a doctor would be smart I am guessing.

Take a break for like a week man. Really important. Also take small breaks every 20-30 minutes while practicing and ALWAYS warm up. If it doesnt get better, definitely see a doctor.
