Thank you guys!

It's awesome indeed and very rewarding to know that you can study a historically genuine school of martial arts founded by such a great warrior, as Musashi was.

Thinking back at Gabe's topic regarding re-decorating his home, I guess that certificate will look good on my wall biggrin.gif

Thanks again guys! @bleez - For ken jutsu I had to execute all the blocking types perfectly and also the first 2 kata - Ippon me and Nihon me and for batto jutsu about 11 Kata - the final one being the Kaishaku - a very delicate kata, in which you are basically cutting off the head of one committing seppuku to spare him the pain. It's a difficult cut but I will not explain it here smile.gif We will exercise it in the future on straw dummies called makiwara. As strange as it may seem, it is actually an act of compassion and brotherly love... The kaishakunin, which is the one executing the kata was usually the best friend of the one who had to commit seppuku, or one who was in a close connection with that one.

Thank you Dieter, Gabe and Bran smile.gif

@Bran - I had the same impression when I started out: 'Ho in blazes will I be able to remember all these names?' But practice and keeping in mind the name of what you are practicing will make them stick to you smile.gif

Congratulations my friend !! It is very well deserved ! smile.gif

Also having to perform 11 kata ?? Wow, well done !

It's really interesting to read about the original significance behind the katas and other movements as well. Knowing the meaning behind them must make studying them even more rewarding.

Thank you Ben and Sinisa! @Ben - oh yes, it sure does! Sensei is always explaining what's what with each kata and after learning it, he shows us at least 2-3 ways to put it into practice in real combat situations.
