Stuck In A Box

Are there like any scales that i should practice? Dude, that's the same thing I had.. the pentatonic lesson level 2 from kristofer dahl does the trick. I always knew 1 box but he makes you learn all 5!!! So now I can go up and down the neck, while still playing in key! Just check that lesson, learn the scales and improvise to the backingtrack! Are there like any scales that i should practice? Well, everyone has this problem. The first step you should take is learning alot of linear licks, and also licks in every modal box. To totally free oneself of the box, you need a good ear, and lots of experience. One way to improve this is to start thinking fretboard notes isntead of patterns. This is a huge challenge, but by far the best way to get unlocked. But again, you got 5 penta boxes, and 7 major boxes. 7 harmonic minor and 7 melodic minor too, but this really doesn't help you much against being free. If you're thinking patterns isntead of sound, you'll still be locked to the modal shapes you know most licks in, instead of being free. You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick.
