This threads are always a good place to discover new bands... so the question today is simple.

What's the last band that you discovered and that blows your mind?

Please post youtube videos!

I'm a big fan of deep purple's Blackmore era. I've never really liked the albums after the Stormbringer. But this song is so great, that i can't wait for their new album. Got it on repeat laugh.gif

It's been quite a while since a band really blew my mind. Don't get me wrong I can appreciate and enjoy, and even call my favorites, many bands.

But the last time I really felt my "mind was blown" was back when I first heard Incubus. Their sound of heavy rock, funk, jazz all packaged in a way that was perfect for my liking - Blew Me Away! And all these years later, I still love it...

It has been a long time since I've been blown away discovering a new band.

This song blew me away on first listen. I had to order this album directly from the band before they were signed to a bigger label. I also remember the shipping costs were expensive but worth it. smile.gif

Dorje is awesome! biggrin.gif

[ *youtube*]link[ */youtube*]

Delete the *

and on link put the Code after Watch?v= for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2PZ5hjulKg

you would put [*youtube*]z2PZ5hjulKg[*/youtube*]

once again with no "*"

I love Thrice smile.gif

For me tho, the last piece of music that really touched me, was this one:

It hit me so bad that I had to learn it, both vox and guitar - it features an interesting tuning - from thick to thin -> C# G# C# F# G# C#

One of the latest ones is probably the band The Subways. I really liked all their stuff and the vocal lines.

Some good music on this thread...That guitarist in Crobot (Bleez's post) cracked me up at about 0.25 when he throws his guitar 360 degrees around his body on the strap...cool trick laugh.gif

Great band! I have been listening to this one a lot the last days. I discovered them playing at the Abbey Road sessions TV show. I'm also listening to The Vaccines, talking about this style.

Cool! Glad you like them. I agree, both bands really nail that 70s sabb / zep feeling. Orchid's new album is due out at the end of the month, I've heard a couple of tracks from it and it is sounding brilliant.
That Crobot song is one of the best tracks Ive heard is a long time.... I wish I wrote it smile.gif
