Hi my name is Glen. Graf. I am 20 years old And I am in the United States Navy. I have always wanted to learn the guitar since I was nine. I recently bought a guitar and amp I am eager to learn. My friend at work told me about this place so here I am . I signed up for a three month membership. I took all 6 of the first steps course and I am confused as hell. I think what was confusing was the diffrent notes i under stand what the open strings are E B G D A E. Buth that is about it. I listen to a lot of heavy metal. Some bands that i like are Opeth, Metallica, Lamb of God, Amon Amarth, Black Dahlia Murder, and Unearth to name a few. I look forward to learning and meeting people. My aim is glwnwins12 (I was 11 when i made it. I am to lazy to transfer my friends list to a new one. ) feel free to im me there if you have any tips. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

I Know nothing really about guitar where should I start. I know how to read tabs from a lesson i took on here earlier. From the lessons i took earlier it seems that it was stressing on learning scales i dont really know how to learn scales and which ones to learn. I also have a hard time maneuvering fingers around the fret board. Is there any exercises to build finger strength. My end goal would to be able to play some metal, that doesnt mean i have to start with that i just want to learn the basics and build from there. I feel so lost and confused well it is late and the military likes me up real early in the morning for some reason so I will be back tomorrow. I appreciate the help I think I am going to like it here.

It sounds like this part of the site would really be beneficial for you

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/beginner-...eo-lessons1.htm

go check it out,

I remember when I started out, I learned the pentotonic scale first, you might want to look into this as well, the pentotonic scale is a great place to start for a complete beginner.

have a read here....

Finaly you can move on to Kristofer's lessons
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/One_o_one_tapping.htm
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/beginner-...inner-licks.htm
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/beginner-...ower-chords.htm

And when you get a bit more experienced you can start with Ivan's Pentatonic workshop

And Danilo's full finger training workshop

And a few other workshops to develop your skills
