Hey I have a Epiphone LP Prophecy GX, and I'd like to buy a Ibanez to get different sounds and to be able to use the wammy bar without having to reaccord my guitar. I'm wondering which one to get. Any ideas? My ideal price range would be from 500-800 smile.gif

Try to go for a Prestige, it's worth the money! An Ibanezt RG 1570 should be just a bit more than 800 and you get a high quality guitar!

either an rg1570 like zakk said or a used one in mint condition from the 80's and 90's.

the quality and feel of the used one will be a little better than the prestige, but that depends on how comfortable you are buying used gear. i almost never buy new anymore because ive had too many good experiences buying used.

i have an ibanez buying guide written up in the knowledge base, you should check it out!

I'd say if you're on a budget, second hand prestige, an RG1570 or something similar. There are usually a few on the bay to look at. If you're careful about what you buy you can get a good condition prestige for the same kind of money as the lower-end ibanez models.

These are great....

Ibanez RG 1570 Prestige

Ibanez RG 1550M Prestige

Just try to make sure you are getting a Prestige model Can't go wrong there. Stock pickups on the prestige models might be Dimarzio IBZ's or V-7, V-8's. I prefer the V's over the IBZ's.

Older RG 550, RG 570 or RG 550LTD with Lo pro edge bridge is a good option
