They're one of the few glam metal bands that I liked. I was really into this band in the 80s. Warren is really a good lead guitarist. I also liked the late Robbin Crosby's guitar playing.
I owned their 3 first LPs: out of the cellar, invasion of your privacy and dancing undercover. I haven't listened to them in a long while so I can't recommend a specific song.
As for recommending a band that sounds like them, the only I can think of right now is Dokken. Just do a search in the forums. There has been a few threads lately on their former lead guitarist George Lynch.
Cheers for the advice ill give them a listen...
....right after i take "round and round" off repeat- which may be a while
I have their best of and I like it. My favourite song is "Nobody rides for free". If you like them I think that you'll like Motley Crüe (Dr. Feelgood) ,Dokken, Cinderella, Skid Row,Tesla and some BonJovi (The first 4 albums), Poison, Twisted Sister and Warrant albums. Some of this bands are more "pop" that Ratt but maybe you'll like some of thier stuff.
I'm a bit young to tell this but I think that Ratt's first "Hit" was Round and Round.
gabriel.-
Oh dear lol. Ratt are amazingly awful which for glam means amazingly great The worse it is the better

I was a big fan back in the day and saw them twice. Once when Bon Jovi opened for THEM, (around 1984) and once at an outdoor amphitheater. The first time they were pretty decent the 2nd not so much. Check out the song Way Cool Jr which is on the out of the cellar album. I still like that one.
I saw them with poison when this album first came out.. It was one of my first concerts i went to, reminds me of hanging out at the pool when i was young jammin to ratt, trying to impress the females... cant forget one of their best songs ever... lay it down... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQsUfi_c6iw

R.I.P. Robin Crosby, he died of a herion overdose... He was the rhythm guitarist for ratt...
This band was big back in my time. Their recordings sound great, but every time I caught them live (usually opening, 4 times I think) they where really bad. Sounded awful and the showmanship wasn't good either.
That lay it down riff is nasty.... thanks for bringing back some good ratt memories, and now back to work on that lay it down riff.. my pinky doesnt want to do what i want it to...
Oh the memories! Ratt was HUGE when I was younger.
I've still got all their tapes...
...too bad I don't have a tape player anymore!
Find the CDs used and buy them. That's what I'm doing. All my old glam/hair metal albums are either in vinyl or cassette.
