Hey guys, welcome to another video collab!
I've modified one very famous blues song, for arrangement for my next blues solo lesson, so I thought it would be cool to do a nice blues collab out of it as well!

Number of participants - limited to 15!
Deadline - 25th of January!

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Jan 12 2009, 11:36 PM
Count me in
Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Jan 12 2009, 11:45 PM
Stop time means simply that there are these breaks in the first 4 bars of blues progression. You can hear them in the middle of the track. This empty space leave additional space for a soloist to express himself better.

Ehm Ivan, so what I'll need to do are:
- video file with BT (is avi alright?)
- audio with BT
- audio without BT
Am I correct with this list? I've never done a video collab with you so I'm not that sure
Posted by: Sensible Jones Jan 13 2009, 11:29 PM
I'd love to but I can't!
I can't do Video recordings or even Audio on this PC at the moment!
I'm just waiting for a New Hard drive for my new PC and then learn how to do all this stuff!!!

All I need for mixing is this:
- Video file you playing (it must have audio, but it doesn't have to be hi quality audio)
- Audio file of guitar track without the backing (good audio quality)
If you can't produce these files, any audio& video combination will do, but in order for you take to sound great, it would be cool to have those two files from above.

Posted by: leedbreak Jan 16 2009, 03:59 AM
Is there not a start beat do we play on the first note?
Posted by: Sergio Dorado Jan 16 2009, 09:18 AM
Hello Ivan. I want to participate. Are there any space?

The backing starts effectively at 0.07 mate when the drums kicks in. Depending how you guys record your takes I will possibly mix it so that everyone has their full share of the backing (in the last collab some notes were missing here and there). My point it - feel free to record over the backing, it will be OK no matter how you wanna start.

Sure Sergio, it would be my pleasure man!

Posted by: kaznie_NL Jan 24 2009, 07:21 PM
little question, the E A B progression, they also fit in the Cmaj or Amin scale. Can I use those (Penta's ) as well?
Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Jan 25 2009, 02:22 AM
I wouldn't generally use A or C as a tonal center in E A B progression, but you can combine the notes from major key of course! Many of those notes are also in the E minor scale. Also you can check out E dorian (D major key).
Posted by: OrganisedConfusion Jan 25 2009, 10:24 PM
Ivan I'm sorry but I'm going to have to pull out of this collab as I just haven't the time to get it done unless tomorrow night is fine to get it done by. I have been far too busy lately.
Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Jan 26 2009, 12:05 AM
I'll give you a couple of days more OC, there's no rush, I understand. Cheers!

Ivan
Im sorry Im not going to make this. I think I have bitten off more than I am ready for. The backing is great and I thought yeah great I can do somthing with that, but I just cant find the notes/scale that sound good. I have been trying minor pent but it does not sound right to me. Perhaps it needs the maj so I had better go learn that.
Maybe next time.
Thanks for arranging this though. I will keep working at it.
Sorry

Scales that would fit nicely with the backing are E minor pentatonic, E major pentatonic, and E blues scale. You can try experimenting with those scales, and if you have any questions mate feel free to ask. If you can't make it with the collab now don't worry, there will be more. Cheers!
Posted by: kaznie_NL Jan 30 2009, 02:54 PM
I used Em pent, or E blues, just how you want it It worked for me
