Hey Guys,

I found a site online which had a whole bunch of free VST's in them! There are some nice ones in there! I'm now using Cyanide distortion and the Juicy 77-amp simulator wink.gif

Check it out Here:
http://www.audiomastermind.com/

For those who don't know, download, unzip, cut .dll file, Program files--> Reaper --> Plugins --> FX, then paste in that map. Restart Reaper and click it on your FX list.

It's also for non-reaper people, but I only know reaper, that's why I only gave one explanation.

This Thread has been filled with more useful sites, here's an organized list:
Effects:
http://www.audiomastermind.com/ (Free VST effects)

http://mp3.deepsound.net/plugins.php (VST Effects)

http://antress.webng.com/ (Free effects, great interface)

Instruments:
http://www.chrishein.net/index.htm (All kind of VST instruments, commercial. Demo's HERE, try-out available)

http://www.dskmusic.com/blog/ (Free VST instruments)

http://www.bostreammail.net/ers/ersdrums.html (Free Drum machine)

http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=381 (Free Drum machine)

http://gtgsynths.com/plugins.htm (Various VST instruments including drums)
Both or Other
http://www.project5.com/products/instrumen...yer/default.asp (VST instrument acting as host for SoundFonts)

http://www.kvraudio.com/allpluginsononepage.php (Free and commercial VST plug-ins)

http://www.uv.es/~ruizcan/p_vst.htm (Synths and tools for mixing, looks cool)

http://xoomer.alice.it/fabiomarzocca/ (Software aiding the percussion via MIDI, more info on site)

http://www.vst4free.com/index.php (Free VST plug-ins, including drum machines, doesn't work with Google Chrome)

http://www.vst4free.com/ (Free VST instruments and effects)

http://www.vstplanet.com/ (Mainly freeware VSTs, instruments and effects, some are also on other sites)

http://www.sadglad.com/freevstplugins6.html (Tip! a huge list of free VST plug-ins, categorized)

I was using Guitar Rig 2. Just open VST, mute hearing your microphone (but not mute the actual recording wink.gif ), select one of the presets and play!

You have to have some host for it... In other words - a software which supports VST effects and VST instruments.

Going with this example Guitar Rig:
Record your clean guitar, and make an "insert" to this channel with GR. This will make it smile.gif
Depending on your hardware, you may want to monitor GR effects while recording - or not... wink.gif

PS.
You all using Guitar Rig.... Check Amplitube 2. It's better, IMHO smile.gif And soon there will be another one: Redoptor.

hmmm... if there will be more people interested in it, I could make a lesson on Cubase...

Well if I don't have that software... Reaper and Guitar Rig alone isn't enough? Ok wink.gif BTW, I made a little list, check at the top!

I don't know Reaper, but I suppose it supports VST effects smile.gif So yes, it's enough. You just need to tie your record with the effect.

Yes I get that, but "just tie".... It doesn't really help me, if you don't know Reaper, you probably can't help. Thank for the info, I'll whait for someone who can explain more in detail.

Another findings...

some drums machine
http://www.bostreammail.net/ers/ersdrums.html

another drums machine:
http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=381

nice effects for final mastering and some synths
http://www.uv.es/~ruizcan/p_vst.htm

Not really a VST, but a software aiding your percussion tracks composing. The effect is written in a MIDI track, with which you can later drive some VST drum machine.
