Yes man, try to disable the Realtek card completely. Then try with Gearbox again, buffer 512, 16bit, and move the slider a bit to the right.

Doesn't work.. but I think, if there's nothing to do about, that I just leave it. The crack is once every ten seconds or so when I listen to music, and when I play it can be up to once a minute, so that's not to bad.
