QUOTE ("Steve Vai")
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

Recently I found lots of these overdubbed fakes of guitar masters playing crap...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiXR9ggRdFI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hw2tuCSWia4

At least the malmsteen one says clearly is a parody...
I don't know. It may sound fun to some people( specially who does not play guitar), but I get really pissed of with those videos...

Same opinion. Just an example:

Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhLdfjaYZtY
Overdubbed version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiXR9ggRdFI

The funny thing is that a few people seems to seriously comment the overdubbed version as a master piece wacko.gif

These are all in fun. That St. Andrews guy is really good. The Paco De Lucia and Eric Clapton ones are hilarious. I must say that I enjoy watching Yngwie and Steve Vai being made fun of also. Yngwie is Yngwie, and I think Steve Vai has a tendency to go overboard with histrionics sometimes. Everybody knows these guys are the top players on the planet. There's nothing wrong with poking fun at them from time to time. I still really respect what they do, if not how they behave...
