Anybody here have an isight webcam? I use the camera through isight and film myself playing but when I play it back I get this funky delay. Anybody know how to fix this?

Never heard of such cameras, then I googled and found it is for Apple computers.

What do you mean by delay, video and audio are out of sync?

Yes!! It "skips". I think it is a problem with the camera. Maybe a firmware problem.

Do you record the sound with the integrated mic, or you go through computer sound card?

Integrated mic should be in sync with the video, the best would be to check the camera manual, or website for solution.

But if you connect your guitar directly to sound card, then it's common to have it out of sync, you can adjust it later in some video editing sofware. And the real problem appears if one of these (audio or video) is faster or slower, it happens mostly when audio is recorded in mp3 format, instead of wave

Which iSight camera you mean, the old external one or the internal camera?

If it's not synchronized you can drag the movie file in GarageBand. GB will split audio and video and you can adjust both.

I have a MacBook Pro with internal camera and used it quite a lot. GarageBand for audio and iMovie for video using iSight camera. With this workflow i needed to synchronize both afterwards anyway in iMovie, you can import the GarageBand file in iMovie. It worked, but the video quality is going down while recording both at the same time a lot of blur and missing frames, with a lot of light its better, bit not really. Now i use a normal sony photo camera with video function, and the result is better ... but still a temporary solution at the moment.

Problem with sync usually have to be solved manually,
specially if you record audio and video at the same time,
it's never "on time". smile.gif

I agree, but we can have another problem as well, when there are lost frames.. that cannot be solved even manually smile.gif

Thats what it is Dejan, "lost frames"!!! I have been researching and it sounds like it is a problem with the camera itself. I'll just keep using my laptop!! Thanks for the help guys!!

If you mean it is out of sync it is fairly easy to fix...i just export the audio as a Wav file and then import it back in so that the audio (new wav file) and video are separate (you have to mute the video's audio too). Then i can match them up to be perfect (or fairly close). however if your camera simply doesn't capture some seconds im not sure how to fix it (although i find everything runs smoother the less programs i have running)
