Just watched this video - naturally, they make everything look easier than it really is, (you know, cutting out all the swearing and people telling them to stop making noise in public smile.gif, but I love the iPad interface, and think this is where recording is going so I think you should start thinking about this in terms of gearing up for it.

This interface looks really cool! I always liked Line 6 for the usability and plug n play value. I still enjoy my Tone Port UX2 interface very much. This could be the most versatile iPad interface out there currently?

I think making music this way can be very fun and it is so cool that the interface comes with built in Mic which makes a lot of sense due to its "portable" nature. This way of making music will certainly be the one of the future. Musicians on the road will benefit a lot from it. Also, I always wondered how it would be to completely change the scenery of my recording environment and just go out in the nature and lay down some tracks/compose songs. iPad + devices like these will certainly allow it. Also it is cool to see that Cubase has an app for iOS devices smile.gif That is my weapon (DAW) of choice.

Fun yes.
Easy - potentially.
But you do realize that that track has at least $5000 dollars of mixing, mastering and 'mobile device' optimization on it.

Yup smile.gif The future is now. There is a program called ARIA which is like REAPER or PRO TOOLS for your iPad. Supports plugins, 24 tracks, etc. I've used it and it's just amazing how much power you can have on a mobile device. Grab one of these units and bam you've got a mini studio ready to go no pc/mac required smile.gif
