Hi

Do you guys use any online music stores to order things like strings and other accessories? I´m talking about stores in Europe that send with UPS, Fedex or other express shipping method?? There are alot of problems getting sent directly from USA so I think it would be easier to order from stores in Europe. So do you know any good ones that ship anywhere??

DON'T shop from Musicstore.de they will run you over if there's a problem. They did with me. I sent them a broken Wah to get it repaired, at my cost which I thought was fair, but when I got it back it had a new problem and sounded awful. I asked for them to take responsibility for sending me something that was broken right out of the box and take it upon themselves to pay for the shipping. They refused and it's not even possible to discuss with them, they refuse to answer mails. ..Oh, and I reported the problem day one and then once a week on mail before I called them since they never replied. Then they claimed I lost my rights to complain since I waited too long...???
They are acting so stupid I'm stunned. At musicstore.de the customer is always wrong.

Check out thomann.de instead!

In the long run though it could be cheaper to shop in your local store.

Thomann.de are really good. I buy a lot of stuff from there and been happy so far. It's cheaper for me than buying in sweden where i live.

Well, at my local stores I can´t get all the things I want. I like to use Diaddario 10´s with wound G string, and I can´t get it anywhere here, and some other stuff too.

Thanks for the replies! smile.gif

I just placed an order at thomann.de, for few sets of Diaddario 10´s and Fastfret. smile.gif

I really like this store, you can basicly get everything you need. The price are ok too.

I have bought guitars through musiciansfriend.com, but I have to use third party to ship it onward to europe because they won´t send most items overseas, and it takes time. So it´s great to have a store that sends directly via DHL, if you need a set of strings and things like that. smile.gif

Just curious , what third party did you use to ship overseas ?
What shipping method was used , were guitars packaged and handled well etc ?

Talking about thomann.. I've heard good things about it, but they don't show Norway as an option when I go into the site. If I wanted to buy something there, would they be able to send it to me anyway, if I just chose UK, or Sweden since it's the closest I get?

I talked to a guy at Thomann on the phone once when i was browsing around for a new guitar last year. He told me they shipped to Norway. Don't know if they have changed policy since then though.
I was planning to order my Jackson there, but i found a great norwegian store i ordered from instead.

http://www.intersalg.no/ <-- great place with good prices for us Norwegians. The thing i liked especially good about that store was that when i ordered my Jackson, it arrived at their storage first and had a minor cosmetic flaw on the headstock, and the manager called me about it and sent an email with around 5 pics of the flaw.. and took 800kr of the pricetag.
Great support and service. I've experienced flaws on ordered hardware before, and none of those stores have ever taken the time to check with the customer first.

I've bought all my hardware (guitar, amps etc) from Thomann.de for some years and have never been disappointed. They give a personal 3yr warranty on most stuff too. I had a Pod xt go faulty on me last year after owning it for about 9months. I didnt have much joy when I phoned line 6 about it. Thomann couldnt have been happier to help though. They even arranged a courier to come and collect it at no cost. I always get my strings from local UK dealers advertising on Ebay. They do great deals on packs of 3. (ernie ball, d'addario etc)

Thomman is the 1st online music store for the most greeks I know. They have pretty good service and much lower prices than our stores here.
For example the Line 6 toneport is prety much 50 euro down I think

Strings I always buy from the same seller on ebay, the strings I use are Ernie Ball Super Slinkys cost anything from £7-£9 per set here in the UK ($14-$18) and I buy 12 packs from seller in America for £36 inc P&P ($72)

95% of my hardware has come from ebay with the exception of my Jackson that I bought in a local shop

I would also go for Thomann, I bought many things there and never had any problems, they are very fast and reliable, and the prices are also very good.
