I wonder...

if you could have a private lesson with a famous guitar player... who would you choose? (besides this obvious choices: Guthrie Govan and Steve Vai laugh.gif)

laugh.gif "obvious choices" tongue.gif , wouldn't even thinking of Steve Vai or Guthrie Govan, well Paul Gilbert (of course), been watching alot of hes instructional videos on youtube, and he has a great sense of humor and seems like a really nice person, plus hes one of my favorite guitar players smile.gif , and he has a good amount of teaching/instructing experience, such as writing for alot of magazines and teaching at GIT.
But if it shouldn't be Paul Gilbert it should be Joe Satriani tongue.gif

Hmmm.... probably Gary Moore or SRV if I wanted a blues lesson, Paul Gilbert for Shredding, and Steve Lukather for phrasing and Steve Lynch for Tapping biggrin.gif (sorry, couldn't really narrow it down to one wink.gif

Great choice! His "Intense Rock" series are like bibles for shredders!

You could create (if it were possible, rip Gary & SRV) best contemporary guitar institute ever with those guys! biggrin.gif

Aww...that's not fair! No Steve Vai? laugh.gif I guess it would be Anthony Armstrong from the band RED. This band is becoming more and more famous as time goes by. I like their style very much and would love to learn from him.

That is why I'm excited that Cosmin doesn't mind doing a lesson (or how ever many he wants) in the style of RED. smile.gif

Friend of a friend got some lessons with Steve Vai (I think he could be some sort of aquaintance), and is having more this summer. In any case, cost over 3000 US (25 000 NOK) for a lesson, if I recall correctly.

If I could have a guitar lesson from anyone in the whole world, right now (not having been able to play guitar for the last 3 weeks due to surgery) I guess would choose... Hyuna from 4MINUTE (korean pop star). She can't play guitar, so we'd have to do all other kind of stuff laugh.gif
Or I would take a lesson from Alan (tibetan Jpop artist). I would love to meet her, she is a great musician. smile.gif
Edit: ofc she is not a guitarist either laugh.gif

Aw, the question was specific to guitar players. Well, maybye they have touched a guitar once. I would count that as a guitarist cool.gif

Other than Gilbert I would have to say Michael Angelo Batio. I think he just makes it seem fun maybe because he does the quad-guitar but who knows. laugh.gif

I'd really want a lesson with Eddie Van Halen, but I kinda feel like he would be a dick to me.
I just wanna sit him down and make him show me all his tricks and tone settings. It would be worth a bit of abuse.

Either EVH or Herman/Sam from Dragonforce, so I could check their hands for robot parts wink.gif

Have to be Nuno Bettencourt....his ability on the guitar is amazing, his rhythm playing incorporates licks, his solo's are mind blowing and he really makes chord based soloing sing with his lead. And from what i have seen on youtube he has a great sense of humor....

If only....
