Original lesson: George Lynch Style Lesson by Daniel Robinson

Here is my very first "Post your Take" video. I've been playing guitar for a little over a year now, so I'm still quite new at it....but since joining GMC last month and becoming a part of Gabriel's army, I'm moving along in a great direction. Thanks again for everyone at GMC for their support.

Hello GMC! I just joined the GMC community and must say that it's an incredible place filled with knowledge...that's why I'm asking for a bit of help. I'm completely new to the amp simulators and have an issue that I can't seem to figure out. I'm running my guitar in to a Focusrite 2i4, which is connected to my computer. I use Overloud TH2 for my amp simulator. My problem is this.....if I were to Skype with someone or record a video, I get the clean guitar sound if I use my 2i4 as the input. The only way I can hear the distorted guitar is if I use the exterior microphone of my computer....which sounds really crappy. Can you tell me how others record videos or Skype and get such great sound? Like I said, I'm completely new to this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks again!!

Hello! My name is Rob. I'm 45yrs old and live in Denver, Colorado. I played guitar back in high school but learned everything from either a friend or tab books. I grew up in the 80's hair band era and loved listening to Dokken, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Poison, White Snake, Skid Row, etc. I focused on learning these classic songs, but never understood why I was playing the notes. I didn't understand chord structure, why certain notes can be played together but not others, how to play within a certain key, modes, etc. I stopped playing the guitar after high school. Well..... fast forward 20 + years and I got the desire to actually LEARN to play the guitar. This time around I'm focusing on learning more about the music structure rather than simply being able to play a Bon Jovi song. I want to know why the notes being played fit together...I want to understand why certain chord progressions work while others don't. I want to eventually begin writing my own music and not just playing other people's songs. I've been playing now for a little over a year and love learning what I should have learned 20 years ago.

I found GMC while scouring the internet and thought I'd give it a I'm here.....saying hello to everyone. What I've seen so far has gotten me super excited about the guitar. I keep bookmarking different lessons that I want to work on....My list keeps growing and growing every time I visit the site.

I can't wait to finish my first lesson and post a video. Hope to hear from the rest of the GMC community....I love talking about music and meeting fellow don't hesitate to stop by and say "hello".

Thanks again GMC for everything!!

Rob from Denver
