GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Nooo Got To Send My Guitar To Fender:o

Posted by: Jesse Jul 18 2008, 07:23 AM

.. So I actually just got my stratocaster, like 2 weeks ago, and the tremolo beeps. There is a kink in the middle spring. Now we have to send it to fender, might take 2 weeks. That's bad, I only have like 4 weeks left of summer holiday!
Now I have to play on my good "compared to the fender" crap epiphone SG. sad.gif

Sorry to hear this sad.gif

But if you just need to replace the middle spring, that's very easy. Only takes a few minutes.

Yeah,if it's only spring then no need
to send it to factory or som,
it might take too long to get it back fixed smile.gif

Yeah, I'm with the others on this one too. Springs are easily fixed. You could get a new spring in the local guitar shop and have them help you with it.

Can you post a picture of that issue? I don't know what "kink" is, but as others say - springs are very cheap, you can buy them anywhere and easy to replace.

A kink is meaning a flaw in the string. So it might have been stretched too far pasts its limit and wont go back or it may have an odd deviation in the coil. Or I could be compeltely wrong.

These kind of stuff happens on Strats, after all they are factory models, lots of them being mass produced, and errors may occur here and there. Luckily enough these errors are often only trivial and because of that miss the eye of an inspector, so they are most likely to be fixed easily.

Yep. I got it back already. Sorry . That old guy at store said first, yeeeeeeeeeeh we can bend the bridge a bit but I dont wanna do that so it has to go too fender. Second time we come hes like oh I got a spring here . Done. xD So I got my guitar back, I had myself prepared for 2 weeks without my new fender ohmy.gif Maybe Im getting 2 springs more later on "I got 3 now" because I might move on to 0.11 and 0.12 strings for thick bluesy sounds.
