Hey folks,
long time no speaky. So, I've been working on a little video over the past couple of days.
My first attempt was with two static angles. I own one aging, fairly cheap (and quite frankly, rubbish) digital cam that I use to record video. So no tripod, no lighting rigs (other than an incandescent light bulb on my desk), no screens (well.. I have a duvet).
Usually I use the following couple of items to adjust camera angles:
i) a stack of books for elevation
ii) blu-tac/sticky tape/variously shaped bric-a-brac or stationery that's handy, for angle adjustment

Technical stuff, I know.
Anyhow, I thought my video would benefit from a lovely overhead shot since I'm recording myself tinkling the ivories (or plastics in my case).
How? Well, if you ever find yourself in my predicament, see the following diagram for details. For further detailed assembly instructions, contact me on [email protected]

UPDATE:

I have the results of my video/camera skills in action now smile.gif
Here's how it turned out. The overhead shot in question starts at 2:03

For anyone interested, it's my fiancee's birthday and this was my idea of saying happy birthday and showing here I love her. Today was a very special day in fact - she divulged the secret to me that she was keeping; she's planned our wedding from start to finish. We get married on the day of our 10th anniversary, we jet off to Switzerland and have a private wedding ceremony for just the two of us at the Jungfraujoch observatory (the highest point in Europe I believe), then we're going on a train tour of the chocolates and cheeses on our way to Venice and Austria, where we shall indulge in all manner of spa related activities.

Can you believe she kept all that a secret from me to surprise me on her birthday.. wub.gif

Thanks. A masterplanner indeed - she's not used to keeping secrets from me either, so it was quite a task she pulled it off
