Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Very nice - love following your progress!

This time around it feels like you have paid much more attention to details - and the end result conveys a more pro impression and musical take. It also feels like this might be the best recording sound ever to come from you at GMC. 👌

Muris' timing is very 'on the beat' in this beginner lesson, in a robotic way. I don't get the same impression from your playing which in my book is a good thing.

At 00:24 you end the bend out of pitch, leaving a slightly sour taste to the listeners ear.

I would also like to suggest that since you are struggling with picking consistency - you should use every occasion given to you to play alternate picking - especially if you are playing something slower like this lesson.

Very well done, you get a 9 from me!

Hi mate! Great job here!

There are small details to improve here but I'm really enjoying your playing and feel here. I can notice that your left hand fingers don't look completely comfortable yet, but your overall posture will improve with practice. (Please send me a PM because I want to recommend you some exercises for this).

As Kris said, it's good to see you focusing on details and playing with good timing. Your vibrato technique is getting better. There is some room to make it more consistent but it's on the right track, keep going!

Congrats friend.

WOW!! Nice take! I really enjoyed it. Very muisical. Filled with a good vibe and energy. Also your technique is on point. Hand synch is solid, picking is precise and most important of all, bends are to pitch. Without any of these things, the entire REC would fall apart. You have improved a TON since starting here at GMC and it's great to see!!
This is a great REC to pick as it matches your skill level well and allows you to shine. Your well within you wheel house on this and it shows. Calm confidence comes through. Nicely done.

My only complaints are small, for one you are sitting side saddle, which is fine, I just don't suggest it as the angle of the hand is entirely different from the standing position. Secondly, your right hand position is focused on the low strings instead of being centered on the trem. This is fine in general, but for licks that use open strings, it becomes a problem as left hand muting is taken away. So I usually suggest a center strategy where the hand is centered on the trem so it can mute and unmute every string just by tilting the wrist. This is made easier by sitting in classical position.

Still, well played!! Solid 9 from me!!
Todd

Hey there!

Looks like you start to do things the proper, careful and patient way. The flaws we can spot in this take are visibke but not at the critical level. It means you're on the good path and things are more than 60% correct each. You lack some pitch on bends but they are quite nice and clean besides this. And...you listen while playing and try to fix while you here something can be improve. That's great.

I like the way you start to work over your vibrato. It doesn't have that nasty feeling of taking note out of pitch. Through time you'll give it some smoothness. Now you are working on the proper execution and it goes really fine.

You need to take care of unwanted strings - like 0:42 because it disturbs what you play (cuts throug the note you want to hear alone)

This topic is more complex that's why I made a dedicated lesson for it:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Muting-Unwanted-Noise/

Please go there if you want to improve you control over unwanted noises. You don't have to prepare the lesson for rec. You only need to listen, view and copy some of the solutions for right and left hand shaping.
