hi everybody, my name is eric whinnery, ive been playing guitar for about nine months, but am fairly advanced for that (i supose i should let you real pros be the judge at that) biggrin.gif
since im still a young guitar player, i havent exactly found a style of music i enjoy playing best, i would say i can play any lessons on here up to 8 difficulty, any ideas on good lessons that might make me chose a type of music to play?
p.s. im only 14, so give me time to catch up to you fellas wink.gif

- Eric

Welcome to GMC, I don´t know what to tell you, you can play pretty well and I think you should play the songs you like, the style and stuff come with time. The best is to play masterpieces note by note (like the painters do copying famous paintings.)

haha well i suppose i asked a pretty vague question, i know that i like the sound of distortion in my ears, haha and enjoy playing very fast and hard sounding stuff, would that be considered shred?

Welcome man, 9mo playing and playing all GMC level 8 lessons....Wow! I would suggest you play what you enjoy. Take a few bucks and invest in some sort of recording interface like a Toneport or Pandora and listen to yourself. I would love to hear you as well! smile.gif

would it really be considered anything if i just covered some of the GMC lessons with my own tweaks? hahaha if not then give me a bit to write my own solo wink.gif
and i dont know how much respect anybody here has for dragonforce (i know i dont have much) but i did a cover of through the fire and flames that went pretty well with my friends band (im not in a band yet, i dont think im ready)
one other thing, i cant sweep! although i havent tried yet... hahaha any good lessons for that? im dying to try that out
im going to boston in a few hours for guitar center (lol actually i have to go to a wedding but hey guitar shops and concerts are what make roadtrips bearable) so i'll be back by tuesday? haha i'll put up a video then, we can see if im actually lvl 8 material (im voting on the not so sure about that side) wink.gif
