GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Hockey Season 09-10

Jah, this needs to be made. Who are you rooting for this season? I always follow the Canadian teams, and of course Red Wings.

Bruins are getting there asses kicked at the moment, which I am pretty surprised about.
Red Wings are gonna be in Sweden tomorrow for there opening.
Plus, Canadiens v. Leafs are turning out to be better than I thought. I'm all for Canadiens, but Leafs are stepping up there game on the hitting department.

I've been a Red Wings fan since birth, and I can't wait to see what they'll do this year. I also wanna see how Heater is gonna do with the Sharks. I have him in my work hockey pool, so I hope he doesn't let me down.

I have a hot spot for Brynas (Brynäs) but if I should choose a team in the Stockholm region it'd be AIK.

In the NHL I don't really have a favourite team, I usually just follow my fellow Swedes no matter the team they are in I'm happy when they succeed.

Is this another one of those Games where some American team becomes 'World Champions' by only beating other American teams instead of becoming 'National Champions'???

This has always bothered me. I don't really watch that many sports but I don't even like to mention the baseball championship by name because it's called the "world series." And that's the least of the offenders because at there is (thankfully) a Canadian team involved in one of the leagues.

Jonesy, I love hockey, but I only follow one tournament. The World Juniors. Still some passion in their play. And, it is a World Championship of the nations that can actually play hockey. However, the NHL is the National Hockey League and is named in somewhat of a strange fashion as it's made up of teams from two nations. But the Stanley Cup is the Stanley Cup...it's not named, nor considered a world championship. Just the championship of the most major professional hockey league in the world. However, my above paragraph reads somewhat argumentative, but it isn't even in the slightest.

Hockey Season is my favourite season smile.gif (Although it is still wrong that CBC lost the Hockey Night in Canada theme song. It's not right hearing it on TSN sad.gif )

I'm a Senators fan (don't hold it against me though wink.gif ) and although we lost last night I'm hopeful this season. We have a long way to go to get back to where we were a few years ago but at least we have a bit more scoring depth this year. However since Chara left our D is OK at best, and yet again our goaltending is leaving a lot to be desired, but I think we'll be in the mix in the east this year.

Only two nations play but people from all over the world play in the NHL.
