So for a few months I've been saving for a new guitar, was talking with a guy about a Schecter PT custom shop when this happened. My dog was playing next door with my parents pooch when my father heard a yelp went outside to see Seth limping. Took him to the vet and what do ya know, he's only broken his leg. Cost me 250 plus the return bills. Have to get insurance now Have to wait a while for the new axe now.

Can't be angry at that face either. He looks so depressed.

Edit: I was wondering does he pant a lot? Mine is pretty constant unless its pretty cool out.

I must of looked a bit like that after breaking my leg as a kiddo riding my skateboard right into a car - im innocent what happened. Cheeky but adorable even after an accident. He'll get up and about again in no time. Unlike when it happen to me, no friends can steal his crutchs to walk around on! Make sure to sign the cast.

Awww man he looks so totally bummed out in that picture. Also it looks as if he is saying "Sorry Dad" . Sorry to hear about the unexpected setback llibach. Thats a great looking pup though.

When I was having problems with my last dog the Vet had told me that panting can be a sign of pain. Hopefully this isn't the case for your dog.

Hope Seth gets better quickly.

250 is quite cheap for the UK. A friend's vet's bill was a lot more when his dog broke a leg.

Yeah they will pant if they're in pain.. but it's not necessarily that. Dogs are ultra sensitive to whatever energy is around so if there's heightened excitement or awareness in the house then it will pick up on this. It can make a dog adrenalised/ready for action because it senses a change in mood but doesn't necessarily know what it signifies. Collies are especially like itchy trigger fingers, ready to rock in the blink of an eye so they're very easily excitable. Although I'm sure you guys already know this

Ours is losing his senses (apart from smell) as he's getting older and he has arthritis so he pants if he doesn't know what's going on, can't see properly, is in pain, or from exertion or just happy, excited

Our other dog pants a lot also, but she's a chow so she has a ton of hair... All over the house!

Oh if mines in pain I don't think she would be a crazy wild animal with her ball. Half the time if you wake up there is a ball on the pillow waiting for you to toss it. I'll have to ask the vet about it, she goes in for a check up soon. Thanks for the advice.

I've never had one but I'm so impressed by their instinctual behavior. I hear they push their owners if they don't think they are going in the right direction!

Haha, love it !!

Our collie, Freddy, absolutely hates people using power tools. Not because he doesn't like the noise but more because he doesn't think they're safe. It's almost as if he's telling us off, trying to look after us. 'Don't use that ! Don't touch that !'

Oh they are amazing, mine is very stubborn. She slams her breaks on when you put her on a leash. She is very hard to train if you ask me. Almost 2 and I've gotten lay and sit lol.. But I can leave random food out and say its mine and she will not touch it at all.. Now if only the other 4 dogs would do that!

As for pushing she has never like do this or that. But if all the dogs are running outside she goes after the 2 smallest ones and kinda nips at them to go where she wants them to go. Now when she wants a treat she will act like she can out smart you. Hey guys! Yeah you, follow me I want to go outside and play. *stops* Ha! I lied I want a treat. *looks around* Come on! It's only me in here with you please!


He knows how important your hands are so you can guitar! Mine actually usually lays on the bed when I play, so I always have an audience of 1!

Mine is not protective either, she's a pansy. Oh crap people BARK BARK BARK! Oh crap they are near the house I'm going to run and hide in the back room, maybe the other dogs will make sure I'm ok! brrrr brrr bark.. She is a riot!

You called that right, he's 4 months.
Don't feel too sorry for him though he's been out chasing chickens and sheep already that face is just a put on.
They deffinetly are a challenging breed because of their intelligence and energy but it's worth the effort because they're so loyal and fun to work with.
