Hi mate!

Nice to see this lesson at REC! Gary Clark Jr rocks!

The first thing that I will say is that your sound is really close so copying the chain really helped! Well done.

After that, the second important thing is that the solo section has some pitch issues and this seems to be related to your guitar calibration or strings. All the notes sound a bit off and it doesn't seem to be related finger's pressure (however this can be a reason).

Besides this, there are some playing elements that need attention:

- Timing: I notice timing issues when playing both the riff and the solo. This is not an issue that appears all the time, it suddenly appears in short fragments. I recommend you to compare your right hand with mine when playing the first riff. Notice how my hand moves naturally with the groove, while yours seems to make fast attacks when picking and then slow down. This is very clear during the first riff but it happens all the time and that's why I think your timing is not precise, and everything has room for groove improvements.

- Bending: The lesson is full of subtle bending (and other expressive techniques) details. I see that you are adding some of them, but in many cases I feel that there is more room to work on this. However, it's essential to fix the tuning issue before working on this. (For example those two bends at 00:40 and 0042 are not reaching the pitch.)

Cool - I think your playing here as some great vibes! I like how you dig into the lead notes and we can clearly hear you are feeling it.

I agree with Gab's specifics - and to me these are symptoms of slightly 'rushed' practicing. Had you practiced the slower tempos a bit longer, we would probably not see this missed notes (esp noticeable in the beginning when you could improve your hand sync) - or timing fluctuations.

I also notice Gab lets his notes ring out loudly in the main riff - this is a very nice effect which requires you to play relaxed and have precise finger movement control - in order not to accidentally mute ringing strings.

Keep up the good work - I will give you a 7 on this level 2 lesson.

Hey there! There is something cool about that "wamr and muddy" riffin that keeps rollign like a stone

I think you did a great job on tone match. Seems like Gabriel's settings worked just fine for you as well.

You have some timing issues at the beginning. I have to notice but I realize how hard it is to keep perfect timing to such a long breaks between hi-hat beats.

I think you should work on the precision of your slides. Sometiems you cut them too early and some kind of unwanted break appears whee things should sound perfectly glued. Other times you just seem to loose the contact with frets and slides sound kind of def.

Another thing to fix is a long term thing but it's a common beginner/intermediate player issue. There is no need to take away left hand fingers while you are going to press next fret/frets on the same string. Let all the fingers fret the string so the strength will split on multiple fingers and this way things will simply become easier/softer to play. It's especially visible on bends or vibrato. Your index finger should look like it is almost not moving at all besides string skipping. Les unnecessary movement means less strength use and less mess that could make simple things become hard try to start working on that. Easy to say, harder to be done but it's necessary if you won't to develope your playing .
