GMC Forum _ Student Instructor Lessons _ I Am Posting This For Fun.....

Posted by: leedbreak Mar 3 2007, 07:22 AM

Hello everyone,

My name is Jason. I have been playing guitar since I was 18 and I am now 40. I do not like thinking about how long that has been. I can not help but think about the time I wasted, practicing the wrong way. Oh well, time for this old dog to learn some new tricks. cool.gif I spent most of my years learning Metallica, go figure. It was the only music I enjoyed playing enough to keep pressing on. I did really well at both the rhythms and lead these guys put out and I am sure the these styles will show through. I also spent some time on George lynch as I used to know all of Mr. Scary and the time I spent on that song is in fact, quite scary. Me second favorite band was the Scorpions, I learn a few of their tunes as well, and many others. I have spent the last 3 years writing songs. I have about 15 songs done 7 of which I think are really good and another 50 projects that I add to here and there.
My other hobby is bass fishing and that's a whole other life story that I will not go into now. Thanks to everyone that reads this and if you are not a member of GMC I suggest you take your guitar to a new level and get in the loop. I have to admit that it is not just what I am learning as I member here, but it is more so what I am learning I have been doing wrong for many years. Make your practices Count.

Thanks
Jason aka leedbreak

I am posting this just for fun.

Nothing special just an easy few beginner riffs that are a great way to warm up. It does show a little about how to add licks within reach of a power chord that you are already playing. This is no where near the caliber of the lessons on the main GMC site but it was fun to record and play. And the art work was fun too. I will post more of these soon and they will be a bit harder, thanks. Sorry no videos yet.

Just wanted to drop a note here that I am still enjoying the post. I downloaded/printed all of it and I am using this all the time. As basically a beginner I find this little example very enjoyable when I get frustrated. It is easy enough to make it sound good, although not as great as you do here. When I am up to snuff I will post my version. No hold of breath though. ;-) Thanks again and more faster please if you have a sec.

Fun little tune to play. I went through the effort of transcribing everything back into guitar pro 5 and added some percussion to it ( albeit very basic. still new to the program) would you like me to post a link for it?

pretty simple but the sound is awesome
