16 Horsepower. The drummer in my band had some songs of this band he sent me, some days ago.
Sure it was good, but maybe a little too sad/depressive for my taste(and I'm in a blackmetal band... irony ).
Today I come to think of the band again, saw som videos of them on youtube. Decided to download(shame on me) Sackcloth 'n' Ashes. I really, really, really love the vocals. The sound and style itself is also really cool, and VERY unique. Never heard anything like this before. Someone called it goth-country. I guess it makes sense.
I recommend everyone to check them out:

Are You Dead Yet? album by Children of Bodom, as i type its on "living dead beat". I dunno, even though its metal i can almost feel this punk vibe come from the music. Pretty cool stuff....
Calling all cars by senses fail
Demons & Wizards - Down Where I Am
Hansis's voice always gives me chills! And when in this particular song the distorted guitar kicks in after all the acoustic stuff it sounds amazing! Wow!

Right now I can't get enough of Opeth- Ghost Reveries. Definitely a great album.
Why?
Their melodies, dynamics, solos, lyrics, arrangments are remarkably original for a band that's given the harsh limitations of a label as a progressive DEATH metal band.
