I can't blame the guy. There are plenty of folks making backing tracks. I'd much rather create something than just recreate something.
Sad to hear about the hearing thing he has done some greta backings.
It also seems several of the bigger backing creators have gotten demonetised on youtube recently.
Very true about demonitization. They did the same thing to nearly all of the guys doing video game walk through vids. Advertisers decided those vids were just too long, not enough chance in a given viewing session to see enough pre roll adverts, so they demonitized them by steering traffic away from them. Those folks have had to adapt and find alternate funding like patreon. The advertisers want as many chances for an unskippable pre roll add per viewing session as possible. The prevalence of pre roll and non skippable pre roll ads is really lame imho but it's a biz after all. I find myself skipping to vids without pre roll.

I've noticed in the last couple weeks many of my favourite backing tracks have disappeared from youtube.
I should have downloaded them sooner
Wads of cool free ones seem to be going away. It's always a moving target. Even if it seems like it's stopped moving for a bit Next thing you know, it's moving again, laws change and resources shift again. I'm sure new backing tracks will pop up, as I said, moving target

I really dug MyDarnJamTracks, he made a real effort to give a song type structure to his tracks. I've found him on Patreon, worth $1 a month.
Saying that I would be remiss not to applaud the quality of the tracks here at GMC.
