Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Ok, your rhythm is not bad at all. You're in time mostly.

When you hit the chords you're cutting them quite short. It's good to see that you're capable of muting the notes at will. This is an important skill to have but you need to let the chords hang a tiny bit longer.

When you play the bass notes on the low E string you're pulling them out of key. Vibrato is a difficult technique to get so unless you've got the time to develop it you might find it easier not to try the vibrato on the low E string and just play it without it.

Your guitar is having some tuning issues there as well so try to check your tuning before you record smile.gif

Tuning is easily sorted.. so it's just those 2 other issues I mentioned that need work to get it sounding closer to what Sinisa does.

Hi Anese, congrats on your first REC take!

Your timing is tight on this take but the problem is that you are playing the rhythm and chords duration different compared with the original lesson. This gives the take a different groove and feel compared to Sinisa's take. I basically note 4 important things to have in mind in the next days while you practice, to master this lesson.

- Chords duration: You mute the chords too early compared to the original lesson. Listen to the lesson carefully and play it over the original take trying to go tight with the different duration. Once you get the idea you will notice that it's repeated in the whole lesson.

- Muted notes: There are some palm muted notes, mostly root notes that are played between the chords that you are missing. Re-check the video parts to see what I'm talking about. Discover those 8th notes that you are missing and add them to your playing.

- Vibrato: Sinisa plays vibrato on the bass note every time he reaches a new chord. You do it just a few times and the vibrato is not defined, it's weak. Give a look at this lesson if you want to work on vibrato technique: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bens-Vibrato-Odyssey-5/

- Bending: There are some double string vibratos close to the end. You are not comfortable with them so isolate and practice this licks to master them. This lesson will help you to train this technique: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-guitar/double-stops/

Ok mate, please check carefully my comments, try the ideas and contact me if you have any question. Keep on the hard work!

Hey mate! smile.gif

I see that the guys have already hit the spots here, so there's nothing much to say... but wink.gif BUT, I have had the honor of listening to the second take before they did, and I must say it sounds A LOT better.

I will wait for you to upload that one officially in the REC zone and comment on it.

All the best,

Cosmin
