Very interesting vid featuring the touring bassist of a band called "sugarland". I"m not a fan but the gal talks in depth about her journey from nowhere to touring musician and how no two paths are the same.

No two paths are the same - true.
But her path is pretty normal.

1) She's really good and works hard.
2) She went to Berklee. BEST (hands down) networking college for music you can go to - end of story.
3) Her (biological) father is a professional musician. The other best way to be introduced to people.

Well said smile.gif The work ethic is a big part and going to Berklee didn't hurt! Didn't hurt the guys in Dream Theatre either smile.gif Also having an "in" with a relative is pretty darn nice as well. Not to mention being an attractive gal who can play well. So yeah, she's got quite a bit working for her. Not to say she hasn't worked hard and earned it, she obviously has. Just that everyone's journey is different and it's always good to identify any bits that may help!
