I hate cold fingers
Jersey gloves with finger tips cut off for practice and gloves to keep warm while waiting

Sometimes it gets cold in the house. If available, I drink coffee, or run my fingers under warm water - but not too long, because then I will mess up my hands.

It's very dangerous to play with your fingers cold because of the weather. I can hurt my fingers because of it. The best way to solve this is to wet my fingers with hot water. If this is not possible using gloves before playing and warming up slowly could help.

I remember this as one of the coldest days for a Cirse's show. It was a competition to play in a festival and it was around 12 am in winter and we had to play 2 songs.

I'm from the New England area of the US, where its pretty freaking cold most of the year. When I lived there, before I would practice I would sit on my hands until they were warm. I thought that was the best way to get them to body temperature without sticking them in my mouth or becoming a pseudo-proctologist wacko.gif

I could never figure out a way to do it. Maybe AKRich can lend us some of his Alaskan wisdom.

Sorry man I have no majic bullet for playing in cold weather , I simply avoid it if at all possible, I have seen people play with fingerless gloves and wondered how they could do it, it just doesnt seem practical to me.

Set up a refrigerator box with a hole cut in the top for your head to stick out, and keep the rest of your body and guitar in the box! Be sure to hang a spare guitar with fake hands on the outside of the box - you gotta keep your cool appearance you know biggrin.gif

Playing in the cold is terrible. Especially when the neck and strings are cold to the touch. I would have one of those stage heaters that blow warm air pointed at me at all times if I knew I needed to do any licks - or I just wouldn't play cuz that could cause injury- especially if you have to grab for a 2 string index finger bend! ouch!

You can massage your fingers from one hand using the other hand, or better yet, if there's a hot mug of tea or coffee around, that can also help wink.gif
