Hey guys I know this is a guitar forum but this is something I have been working on lately. I decided to try and compose something entirely on my own, and this is what happened. A simple song, in a style that has been used quite a bit, but not bad for a first attempt. Comments and suggestions welcome. It's in F# Major.

Let's boogie !!
Did you input the MIDI or did you play some of it as I noticed it has a humanized feel to it, where not every note is 100% uniform and exact ?

Actually some would say I cheated a little bit!
I used my Yamaha keyboard and played and recorded the right hand rythm part first, then added the left hand melody line into it after I got the rythm worked out. Then I had to send the file from my keyboard to the computer and convert it into mp3 format, run it in cubase to adjust some stuff, then finalize it as best as I could. So, to answer your question I did in fact play it, but actually mixed the left and right hands together seperately. To me this sounds very cool! This is exactly type of music I'd like to be able to "solo" on piano.

I know what you mean about walking away from piano, for a while I kind of ignored my piano in favor of guitar, but I have recently been getting back into it, particularly for composing. I have been playing piano since 2003, but I am just now getting to the point that I can actually write stuff that isn't painful to listen to!
