Hail to you all, disciples of the guitar.... I hope you're ready and have been keeping those fingers healthy..

Task 8: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Open_String_Riffing/

You have until next Thursday 22nd March to record your takes.

This one will require total accuracy and as much cleanliness as you can manage to make those notes stand out. Use palm muting to make them sound staccato and remember, you don't have to record it at the same speed as the lesson. I would rather hear a good, mostly accurate take at a lower tempo than a rushed, barely managed take at full tempo.

There's nothing too demanding for the fingers so it's mainly about tightness ! Enjoy ! smile.gif

Finally I have managed to get a decent recording on this one.... man did I had a blast dry.gif

Its funny how you can go through a piece several times and think, hey thats good lets record it, and the you mess up EVERY SINGLE TAKE
and always at the same spot and always just at the end ( had the same problem with canon rock lucky here its just 40 sec not 5 min )
So you sit down and practice that part over and over and think hey I can play it lets record it now BUT again same problem mad.gif

So then u rly loose your cool and thats not helping and you know it, but you cant stop either.

ANYWAY here it is 90bpm take 1000000.234

PS: I will try to get it up to speed over the weekend but for now i just wanna have some breakfast and a shower biggrin.gif

Sounding good man, try to get that bend right up to pitch, it's a little bit flat sometimes smile.gif

Everything else sounds really accurate, good work !

Hey Ben!

Here's my shot at Task 8. I've really enjoyed the last couple weeks doing these riffing tasks. I'm doing a riffing lesson with Gabriel right now too that is really fun to play but it's kicking my butt a little trying to finish it up. Anyway, they have been a nice change of pace for me. smile.gif

Looking forward to #9. Have a good one!

Hail to thee, Greg of the Sunshine State ! cool.gif

Sounding good... your timing is always pretty damn hot so it must be cool to challenge yourself with these twisty little licks. I can hear and see that the hardest bit for you was that riff in A where you have to pick between the A & D string using inside picking - tricky isn't it ? wink.gif

I'm really pleased you've enjoyed the focus on rhythm.. it's going to be moving to something else today ! ph34r.gif

Hahaha! Thanks Ben, my title sounds so official. biggrin.gif

That A section was actually really tough. When I first learned it I thought it would be no problem. It's a very standard, recognizable blues/rock pattern but up to tempo, keeping the timing clean was extremely challenging for me staying "inside" the strings not to mention keeping the actual notes clean with the distortion. Really cool stuff.

Yo Ville, thanks for your submission !

I like the sound of it a lot, your tone sounds quite close to Emir's.. lots of growl ! smile.gif

Your timing's really good, you've got good rhythm... if you tightened this up and smoothed out the extra string noise it would sound awesome wink.gif

Now head on over to Task 9 ! Make sure you've had a good breakfast ! ph34r.gif

Hi Ben, I'm a little late on this one. I'll have to do some push ups I suppose huh.gif
Some open strings ring here and there and the tempo is quite fast for me. But I like to play this a lot.
À bientôt wink.gif

Thank you GrindGuer.. it's ok, only break a little toe this time wink.gif

You managed it very well.. that A lick in the middle is tough but I think you pulled it off !

Now you know what time it is, don't you ? It's time you headed over to Task 9......

Brutal, DF - Thanks for the take biggrin.gif

Ok, some of the timing was a little out, mainly you were a little too late in hitting the open E on the main riff - it's only a small observation wink.gif

The other thing is tht your bends could be stronger... maybe practise some bending on the lower frets to strengthen your fingers up for those things smile.gif

All in all, very good ! Time for Task 9 !! ph34r.gif
