Hi guys! Have you ever tried producing, collaborating and/or composing using any online sevice?
In these Pandemic days it is harder to meet with my bandmates (Our drummer unfortunately got Covid but now he is fine again) so we've been working on new tracks using Zoom. As you can see in the picture, I'm sharing my Cubase screen and I'm using my soundcard 'Loopback' option to send direct audio from Daw and my mic. It works fine, we are comfortable but the sound quality could be better. It seems that our internet connections aren't good enough or maybe Zoom transfer is limited. However, I still don't know a better option. What do you think? Have you ever tried it? Do you know a better option for this? Creative approach! Yeah, it takes good bandwidth for several people to keep a real time connection. if one person has a weaker connection, it sorta gets in the way. You could try to just do one on one maybe, like with the bass player or the drummer and the bandwidth issues may go away. It's not as good as having everyone on at the same time in terms of creative progress but it might be technically easier to limit the number of people at one time. Just a thought I think we are all going to have to find creative solutions to things as our world seems forever changed now. Yes! This can work better if we need to adjust small details. It's also possible to share a mix by mp3 to listen to more specific audio aspects. By the way, we are lucky that internet and services like this one exist. I'm curious about this: -------------------- My lessons

That's cool. Any info how it works with more than two participants? I'm not sure about it. I've tried to google this but I don't find info. This article explains how it works: https://www.musictech.net/tutorials/cubase/...-pro-in-cubase/ and while searching, I found this article that gets deeper into remote collaboration: https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/remote-collaboration. -------------------- My lessons

From what I've been reading (that I can understand), it seems to work pretty well with just two collaborators. Any more than that and it gets spotty and latent.
Also, a wired ethernet connection is best. -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

Some students designed a software to jam online. It seems that they could solve that latency issue. I didn't have time to try it yet but maybe you can give it a look (you'll need to translate words to English)

Looks cool! I'll give it a shot. IT's going to take a lot of trial and error to find the right software.
